About the Event
Despite the smiles, Black, Indigenous, and Moms of Colour are - dare I say - struggling on the inside.
We are not only processing the racism we face on a daily basis, but we are also trying to educate and protect our children from it, WHILE dismantling the systems that perpetuate it.
It is exhausting.
This event has been created as a way to hold space and support our BIPOC moms.
If you identify as Black, Indigenous, or as a Person of Colour, we invite you to come to this conversation to experience acceptance and belonging. If you choose to, you may share what is on your mind and your heart. You may ask for guidance, you may offer support. It will be a brave, safe space for you to voice, process, and hopefully let go of, that which is weighing on you.
White Moms - you are also invited to the conversation but as silent participants there to hold space and bare witness to the experiences BIPOC moms go through on the daily. This is gift; an opportunity for you to see firsthand how racism impacts Black, Indigenous and Families of Colour across Canada. It may get uncomfortable for you; it is meant to. This is an opportunity for you to practice listening to BIPOC voices and to emotionally, vibrationally, hold space and support them.
**This is NOT a substition for professional help such as counselling or trauma therapy. This is a group of moms having a chat**
Due to the sensitive nature of this conversation, it will NOT be recorded. A Zoom link will be provided 2 hours prior to the event and will be posted in our Private Facebook group. This is a MAR Member event ONLY. Register to receive instructions on how to join the event. Sharing the link with members outside the group is prohibited.
