Objectives / Goals

  • Create safe spaces for BIPOC children to experience joyful, culturally-affirming activities.
  • Strengthen mental health and self-esteem by reducing the isolation caused by systemic racism.
  • Build supportive relationships among BIPOC families and communities.
  • Empower families to challenge exclusionary practices and build anti-racism capacity.

Who it’s for (audience):

  • Exclusively for BIPOC children of all ages and their families/caregivers.
  • Primarily serving children in Victoria, BC, with plans to expand to Metro Vancouver.

How it works (structure, frequency, format)

  • Frequency: Monthly in-person recreational events (e.g., ice skating, bowling, creative arts).
  • Format: Private, accessible venues that remove barriers related to cost, safety, and cultural isolation.
  • Location: Victoria, BC + future expansion to Metro Vancouver

Highlights and Impact

  • 500+ participants over the past 12 months.
  • 12+ community events delivered annually.
  • 100% of families surveyed reported stronger social connections and improved well-being.
