Objectives / Goals
- Support caregivers in practicing collaborative, power-aware parenting.
- Deepen understanding of how systemic oppression shapes parenting practices and family dynamics.
- Create a community of caregivers committed to raising children with anti-racist and justice-centered values.
Who it’s for (audience):
- Open to caregivers of all genders — including parents, guardians, educators, and community nurturers.
- Welcomes both BIPOC and non-BIPOC participants who are committed to practicing anti-racism and equity in parenting.
How it works (structure, frequency, format)
- Frequency: Runs twice annually as a multi-week book club series (based on registration demand).
- Format: Virtual gatherings focused on group reflection and discussion of Parenting Beyond Power by Jen Lumanlan.
- Facilitation: Guided by trained facilitators who create safer, braver spaces for honest dialogue.
