Anti-trans policies in Canada aren’t about protecting kids, they’re about controlling them. Behind the slogans of “parental rights” is a strategy of fear, surveillance, and erasure. If your freedom requires another child’s silence, it was never about freedom at all.

Banning books isn’t about safety. It’s about controlling whose stories get told and whose get erased. Protecting children means making sure every child feels seen, safe, and valued, not silencing the truth to preserve comfort.
